Mavin Records came to be as a result of D’banj and Don
Jazzy’s separation which caused the natural death of Mo Hits record
Mo Hits was started in 2004 by the two friends. They parted
ways in 2012 thus the birth of Mavin Records. At its inception, Don Jazzy said
he sees Mavin Records as the power house of music in Africa in the shortest
possible time. has he being able to achieve this?
Don jazzy
Don Jazzy has become the face of hiphop music in Nigeria,
even making Forbes’ List as one of the richest artistes in Nigeria. He
developed interest in music with the bass guitar at 12. He studied Business
Management at the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma in Edo state. The CEO of Mavin
Records isn’t only making money from his star-studded record label, he also has
very lucrative endorsement deals including one with Loya Milk, MTN, Johnny
Walker, and he was once ambassador of Samsung.
Dr. Sid
He is a certified dental doctor born as Sidney Onoriode
Esiri. He is the son of late Nollywood veteran actor, Justus Esiri. In 1999 he
joined the Trybesmen as a backup dancer and choreographer for 3 years. Like D
Prince he was with Mo Hits record from where he moved with Don Jazzy to

Tiwa Savage
Tiwa
Savage is generally referred to as Mavin First Lady and was signed to the label
in 2012. Before joining Mavin, Tiwa has been singing in US, in 2006, she
participated in the UK version of the X factor. She also co-wrote Fantasia
Barrino’s “Collard Greens & Cornbread” which won a Grammy award in 2010. In
2009, she got signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing giving her the opportunity to
write songs for top international artistes. Tiwa is the most successful female
artist in Nigeria right now. Her endorsement deals include Pepsi, MTN, Forte
Oil and Maggi.
Koredo Bello
Don
Jazzy had organized a talent hunt where he planned to pick the best three and
sign them on. Bello did not participate in the competition, but was introduced
to Jazzy by a mutual contact person. Don Jazzy liked his work and signed
him. His first single was titled African Princess and it featured Don
Jazzy. Before joining Mavins, Bello was nominated as the Next Rated Music
Artist for Peak Awards and Behind Awards in 2011. He is Glo, Face of Woodin
Nigeria.
Reekado Banks
He
joined Mavin records in February 2014. Reekado was a final year student of
History and Strategic Studies, University of Lagos when he joined the Mavin
crew. His first single under Mavin records was titled Turn It Up and it
featured Tiwa Savage. He is a Glo ambassador.
Di'ja
Hadiza
‘DiJa’ Blell is partly Nigerian and partly Sierra Leonian. She signed a record
deal with Don Jazzy in 2013 but it was publicized on February 14, 2014. She is
a Glo ambassador.
D Prince
He
is the younger brother of Mavin records CEO, Don Jazzy. He shot to limelight
with his hit track Omoba in 2009 under Mo Hits. He released his debut album
titled Frenzy in November 5, 2012. He was once MTN ambassador. In four years as
a label, Mavin Records has recorded more successes than any other label within
a short while.

companies with some of them having multi endorsement deals.

on this label have at least an album to self which is not applicable in other
record label
