News; Mazi Nnamdi Kanu trial adjourned to sept. 26 as he wore 'I Love Biafra' Bracelet in court

 The trio of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu and James Nwawuisi has for long being standing trail on six counts of treasonable felony charges. The leader of Indigenous people of Biafra, Mazi Namdi Kanu had been arrested Oct 2015 following the drive to seek for the independence of Biafra. 


Biafrans within the south south/south east of Nigeria has been in police and army custody all over the country following demonstrations and rally conducted on May 30th to commemorate their fallen heroes and heroines.

Chuks Muoma is the lead counsel representing the trio .During the hearing today the 20th of Jun at the federal High Court of Abuja, Chuks said that a new layer in the person of Amobi Nzelo had been introduced to represent Madubugwu without his knowledge. This he described as an affront to him declaring that my appearance in this case will be conditional’’ according to Daily Post. He told the court to adjourn the trail so as to allow the new layer to study the documents relating to the ongoing trail.

The presiding Judge, adjourned the trail to 26th September which has not been the very first time the trail had been adjourned. Judge John Tsoho had faced serious criticism from Biafrans for failing to uphold the judiciary process which had resulted in massive worldwide demonstration. It was also reported Mazi Nandi Kanu appeared in court in a shocking attire where he wore a bracelet inscribed ‘I Love Biafra.This not his first time of appearing in attires that are customized with different Biafra emblem.


Biafrans all over the world had demonstrated previously demanding for the republic of Biafra which was forcibly annexed to Nigeria in 1914.Although it was re-annexed in 1970 after a bitter war that left millions dead, Biafrans has always been demanding for their republic inspite of the means/medium used by the Nigerian gov’t to  keep the country as one.
